Al Gore is not an unfamiliar face in the United States, having being the vice president during the Clinton administration. He has been an active and vocal supporter of green awareness during his years as a Senator and vice president.
Men's relentless persuit of wealth and power through industrialisation has greatly weakened the earth, stripping it of its natural resources, and producing many toxic pollutants and greenhouse gases like Carbon Dioxide. Exponential growth and advancement in modern science has damaging effects on the very planet we live on.
Global warming is a problem men has been increasingly faced with, which causes ice sheets and polar caps to melt, causing a rise in sea level and increase incidence of freak weathers like Hurricane Katrina.
Gore's use of scientific statistics and predictions had given the audience a message: Act now, or face dire consequences that has already begun.
The movie is insightful, and hopes that everyone would play a part in protecting the home that we call earth.
