Envirofest

After almost 9 months of planning and executing, EnviroFest 2006, the brainchild of NTU Earthlink and SMU Verts was unveiled on June 4th at the HDB Hub at Toa Payoh. Various green organizations, including SP Environment Club, took part to educate the public more about green issues.

SP Env Club was tasked with the job of coming up with games and a craft workshop for the general public to enjoy. The club started preparation for the games segment about a month before the event. It was tough working with little the manpower they have and had to work late into the night just to complete the games, often staying in the campus till ten before leaving.

After almost a month of hard work, it was finally time to show off what the club had managed to create. A snake & ladder game, puzzles featuring interesting flora and fauna of Singapore, and a tossing game, and it was greatly received by the public.

It was fun having to the kids enjoying the game as it progressed. Hard work paid off as the games aroused the interest of some other organizations who were interested in borrowing them for their events.

Finally at 6pm, the organizers of Envirofest handed SP Env Club a token of appreciation, signalling the end of the ful-filled event.
